LOCATION
The Department of Casanare is located in the east of the country's Orinoco region, located between 04 º 17'25''and 06 º 20'45 "north latitude and 69 º 50'22''and 73 º 04'33''west longitude. It has an area of 44,640 km2 which represents 3.91% of the country.
LIMITS
Limits: From the North with the Casanare River, which separates it from the department of Arauca, on the east by the river that separates it from Target Vichada department, on the south by Upía and Meta rivers, the latter of which separates the department of Meta, and west with the departments of Boyaca and Cundinamarca.
